Kings Falll to Hagersville in a Close Battle
With an outcome partially determined by external factors, the Kings lost to Hagersville for the first time this season.

In a game filled with frustration and confusion, the Kings found themselves down 1-0 at the end of the first period. Josh Cybulski was outstanding in the crease, as he found himself at the center of a few scrambles in front of the net. However, the Hockey Gods were not smiling on the Kings last night (except for once, when they MAY have giggled a little when Luke Pain, while sitting on his backside, still managed to strip the puck from a charging Hagersville Hawk and saved a certain breakaway opportunity. This adds to the list of memorable "backside moments" this year.....Kyle Arnold, Ty Mac....etc., etc.).

The Kings appeared to have tied up the game with a loose puck shot by Liam Rabbat, but the play was whistled dead prior to the puck crossing the crease (Gray Beard strikes again), and unfortunately - after extensive video review - the shot was ruled a "no goal".

The game got a bit physical, and there were some interesting whistles - and NON whistles!
a) do NOT engage in jostling in front of the net. It might get you a penalty.
b) do NOT get more than 3 stick penalties in a game (e.g. hooking, slashing, cross checking, high-sticking, butt ending, etc.) or else you will be ejected.
c) an overhead chop to the head of an opponent may only get you penalized for 2 minutes and, with any luck, you might be able to draw a match "throwing of the stick" penalty from your opponent (throwing of the stick?? Did anyone else see a stick on the ice?!??).
d) Sitting on someone during a face-off is entirely reasonable

With a lengthy delay at the end of the 2nd period the Kings lost valuable time and sadly, the game was curfewed with 2:33 left on the clock. Clearly, it was time for Gray Beard to call it a night.

The Kings end the round robin playoffs on Sunday afternoon. Game time is 4pm against the hometown rival PW5 (orange). Go Kings!
