Kings Finish Round Robin with a Big Win
It only took 13 seconds for the Kings to take control of this game, and they never looked back!

Kieran Lagan scored 13 seconds into the final game of round robin to give the Kings a VERY early lead over the PW5 team.  Right off the opening face-off, Brayden Pauls screamed up the ice firing a rocket, which gave Kieran a juicy rebound and he made no mistake! The Kings scored again in the first period when Zach Archibald threw yet another goal into the net (assisted by Kyle Arnold), and the Kings headed into the 2nd period up 2-0. Midway through the 2nd Luke Pain noticed an opening while the opponents made a bad line change, and he went thundering up the wing. The forwards could hardly stop themselves at the blue line (they may have been a wee bit offside, but who's counting?!?), and with a blistering pass, Pain set up a pretty goal for Archibald - netting his second of the game. The confident Kings headed into the 3rd period with a three goal lead.

Early in the 3rd the PW5 team scored their first to make the score 3-1, but this was answered shortly after with some great forward scrambling in front of the net. With their trademark flurry of sticks poking and prodding, the Kings's Dylan Kay snuck one past the PW5 netminder (assisted by Brayden Pauls and Liam Rabbat) to put the game out of reach. PW5 struck one more time before the final buzzer, but it was not enough to defeat the mighty Kings!

Josh Cybulski, once again, was spectacular in net. If his career in hockey doesn't make him millions, perhaps he should give baseball a shot. He picks pucks out of the air with his glove like it's nothing!

Personally, this reporter thinks that the spark for this win came during warm-up, when a surprising slapshot came out of nowhere, almost decapitating a teammate who was standing behind the net. Now, let's be serious, we may never see this slapshot again, but until it's a bit more accurate the Kings may want to stay away from the net during warm-up....including Josh. In fact, from this point forward the coaches may want to wear some head protection during shooting practice. Who knows where those flying pucks will land?!?

The Kings head into March Break with a great 2nd place finish in Round Robin. The Kings will host the 3rd place Hagersville Hawks right after March Break, the next step en route to the cup!
