Thunder clinch first place with win
The Caledonia Thunder clinched first place in the Southern Counties League with a 4-0 win over Ingersoll in their final league game of the regular season.

The Thunder were led this time by the great effort of their defense to hustle after and control the puck, particularly in their own end where they frequently demonstrated their ability to reverse the puck to make the breakout much more effective. Corey Shelton opened the scoring late in the first period on a pass from Brenhyn Gavey. Then Zach Ebert got his first goal of the game with Macgregor Lawrence collecting the assist. Early in the third period, Ebert got his second goal of the game on a great shot off the crossbar. Both Macgregor Lawrence and Tristan Walkinshaw got assists on the play. Shortly after Brady Simington scored deflecting a shot from Aaron Oppertshauser. Players of the game went to Chris Chmiel for his first shut out of the season, Carter Gillam for his excellent hustle on the puck, particularly holding the puck in the offensive end, and Remy Hetram who did a great job being patient with the puck and reversing it a number of times to start the breakout. The team now plays a couple of exhibition games after Christmas as they await OMHA playdowns.
