PW4 - Newly Named Blue Devils - Are On A Roll!
The Blue Devils (and I thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for finally putting this to rest.....) are off to a 4-1-1 start to the season.

The third game of the season for the Blue Devils, way back on October 31st, was a spooky encounter against the Stoney Creek Warriors 11. This team was BIG! However, the Blue Devils were able to force them into penalty trouble throughout the game and capitalized on the opportunities. Despite the fact there was no game sheet presented, a few of the older and more feeble minds put together a list of the goal scorers for the Blue Devils:
Tyler Dinya with a fantastic breakaway shot; Owen Clarke, who keeps polishing those secret moves (moves that seemingly struck such fear in the Warriors that they stole his stick in an effort to keep those secret moves to a minimum in the future); Ethan Ferreira with his furious poking and prodding that finally made the puck sneak past the netminder; and scoring completed by Ty "he's got dem dangles" Mac for a 4-1 finish. Sorry - no assist information available.

Game 4 of the 2015-2016 season saw the Blue Devils take on hometown rivals PW1. The defensive core of Dinya/Hine/Pain/Allemang kept the action away from goalie Bruton-Smith and the PW1 team was defeated by a score of 4-0. The team was held scoreless until early in the 2nd period when Jakob Kubisch snuck one past the goalie (assisted by Ethan Ferreira). Jakob scored again shortly after, seemingly unassisted (as you may notice, the game recaps sometimes have very little scoring information, other than the goal scorer - and sometimes even this isn't correct! I think I'll start trying to record this information all on my own, just so the reports can be more complete! Credit is deserved where credit is due!). The second period saw a 3rd Blue Devils goal added by Ferreira (assisted by Chase Peart). And TyMac finished the scoring with 12 seconds left in the game, just to add an exclamation point to the win.

This weekend's games started with a challenging win over Stoney Creek Warriors 10. This team was quicker, more skilled and definitely tenacious than the previous opponent from the northeast. Scoring opened by Stoney Creek in the first period, and they held the lead until well into the 2nd when Ethan Ferreira blew one past the goalie(assisted by Jack MacDonald and Luke Pain). Pain tried to enter the scoresheet on the "goal" side, blasting a mean slapshot from the point - but, alas, the puck was securely stopped by the goalie. Either that, or it was actually embedded into his pads with the force of the shot! The game remained tied until early in the 3rd when Jacob Kubisch netted the winner (unassisted-?!?). The Blue Devils left the building with another solid and hard-fought win under their belts. Special recognition goes to Ty Mac for standing up for his teammates, and Owen Clarke for remembering to take his hockey bag home with him.

The Blue Devils finished the weekend on a high note with another win over the hometown rival PW2 team.  This scoresheet was a bit of a disaster, folks, so bear with me! Scoring opened in the first period by the PW2 team, but this lead was short-lived. The Blue Devils responded with the sweetest goal of the season - a fantastic pass from Jack MacDonald set up a beauty one-timer from defensive superstar Dustin Hine. This was followed up by a sweet shot from Chase Peart for goal #1 on the season (assisted by Ty Mac and Ethan Ferreira - yup, they're everywhere!). In a desperate maneuver, the PW2 team pulled their goalie late in the 3rd period, only to be stung by an empty net sniper shot by Jakob Kubisch. Of note in this game - Pain fired another huge slapshot (one day he'll hit the net instead of the goalie) and Owen Clarke received an undeserved penalty - really, just for a heavy LEAN. A great game by Pardy, Swayze and Clark rounded out the offensive unit, and the defensive core was strong yet again.

Go Blue Devils - keep it up!
