Riptide Finish the Regular Season with Convincing Win
The Riptide "rolled" into the post-season with a big win over Hagersville 9 in the final game of the regular season.
The game was a tight and scoreless contest until late in the first period when Ethan Ferreira found the back of the net with less than 30 seconds left (assisted by Jakob Kubisch).
The Hawks were next on the board to even up the score, but less than 3 minutes later Ferreira put the Riptide ahead (assisted by Owen Clarke and Tyler Dinya, who apparently can get on the scoresheet from his bedside!!). But, the pesky Hawks evened it up once again less than a minute later. The Riptide continued pressing, and were not willing to let the high scoring 2nd period slip by without jumping ahead once more, and defenceman Luke Pain stepped in to put the Riptide up once and for all (assisted by Brenhyn Gavey and Owen Clarke).
The Hawks had no answer for this score, and Dustin Hine solidified the win with a fantastic back-and-forth passing game with Kubisch, eventually sniping the shot. Final score: 4-2 for the Riptide.
The Riptide are next in action in their first playoff game against hometown rivals B2 (Burgundee) on Friday night at 8:30pm. Go Tide!!
