Good Defense and Goaltending Lead Menace To Back to Back Wins
Good puck control, hard back checks, solid defense and great goaltending by Chris Chmiel when it was needed led the Caledonia Menace to back to back wins.

On Wednesday, the Menace beat Caledonia 1 in a nail-biter, 1-0. The team's only goal came midway through the first period when Aaron Oppertshauser fired a backhand into the top corner. Jacob Burton-Smith got an assist on the goal. The Menace controlled a lot of the play throughout the game but couldn't beat the opposing goalie again. The defence played great, and Silas Johnson led the team with some great backchecking, which limited the number of shots on net. However, Caledonia 1 did get a few great opportunities but Chris Chmiel made some great saves to earn the shutout.  On Thursday, the Menace beat  Hagersville 7, 3-1. Hagersville put a lot of pressure on the Menace puck carriers but they were up to the challenge. Silas Johnson got the first goal on an awesome pass from the corner by Alex Chmiel. Then Justin Ouwehand got his third goal in four games by hustling straight to the goal to collect a rebound and deposit it into the open net. Silas Johnson and Tyler Dinya got assists on the play. Then Aaron Oppertshauser held off two back-checkers on a partial breakaway and managed to make a deke and score to put the game away. The next game is Sunday.
