Menace Win Streak Comes to an End With 2-2 Tie
The Caledonia Menace played against hometown rivals Caledonia 3 on Sunday night. Both teams were on multi-game win streaks coming into the game. The first period saw the Menace on their heels much of the period but goaltender Chris Chmiel kept them in the game.
The Menace struck first in the second period when Tyler Dinya fired a high shot that beat the opposing goalie making it 1-0. But Caledonia 3 replied less than 30 seconds later to tie the game up again. Then early in the third period Caledonia 3 scored a powerplay goal to take the lead 2-1. The Menace pulled their goalie late in the third period for the extra attacker and Kayden Miedema became the hero when he scored on a pass from Aaron Oppertshauser to tie the game up 2-2. Ty Macdonald also got an assist on the play. Now the Menace will face the powerful first place Cayuga team on Thursday.
