Thunder Once Again Go 1-1 on the Weekend
For the 2nd weekend in a row, Caledonia U11 Team 1 went 1-1.
On Saturday, November 12, Caledonia hosted Glanbrook Grey. Caledonia gave the game their best effort, but unfortunately felt the impact of several players missing the game, falling by a score of 7-4. Fletcher F made several key saves in his season debut in net. James G collected a hat-trick in the game. Jaxon C had an excellent offensive game, tallying 1 goal and 1 assist, and Molly F and Nate C also collected an assist each.
For the 2nd weekend in a row, the Thunder responded on the Sunday. Travelling down the road to Cayuga, Caledonia's offence exploded with a quick goal 10 seconds into the game by Zach A. Cayuga evened the score before the end of the period, but Caledonia responded in the 2nd. Blake L scored his first goal of the season off a backhand shot, assisted by James G, and Chase W added a goal to make the score 3-1 after two periods of play. In the third, Chase W added a short-handed goal, his 2nd of the game, to give Caledonia a 3-goal lead. While Cayuga scored a late goal to make it 4-2, goalie Davin S shut the door to preserve the win. Excellent backchecking by centres Fletcher F and Layton H, and strong defensive play by Nate C, Teddy B, Molly F, and Drew G helped seal the victory for the Thunder.
