Jackets struggling to score
After a couple of weeks off, the Yellow Jackets got back to league play losing 1-0 to Caledonia 5 and then 2-1 to Caledonia 2.
The team continues to improve their defensive zone play doing a great job back-checking, limiting shots and keeping shooters to the outside. Tyler Dinya has been outstanding game after game and continues to get better and better at angling attackers, covering men in front and controlling the puck in his first year playing defense. Peyton Comeau won player of the game Friday night with his great back checking and positional play throughout the game despite the team only playing with 3 defensemen. The Jacket's only goal Friday night was scored by Ethan Ferreira (who won player of the game last Sunday) on a passing attempt that went off the opposing team's player and into the net. The team continues to work on passing showing signs that it is coming together but getting their heads up and connecting on those passes continues to challenge them. The team's last game before Christmas is on Monday Dec. 22 in Hagersville at 8:15 p.m.
