Midget Reps are Parry Sound Champs!
Submitted By Beth Wise on Thursday, December 13, 2018
Last weekend, our Midget Rep team traveled to Parry Sound to compete in the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame Midget Classic.

What a weekend it turned out to be!  The team went undefeated in 5 games to bring home the championship, outscoring their opponents 15-5.

During round robin play, Caledonia faced Stayner, Six Nations and Highland.  The team was pleased to tie Six Nations after a huge Southern Counties loss to them just 3 days prior.  Finishing 2nd overall in the tournament, with 2 wins & a tie, the boys faced 3rd place Kincardine in the semis and defeated them 5-1.

It was on to the championship against the # 1 seed, Huntsville who were 4-0.  It was evident from the moment the teams stepped on the ice that not only the coaches and players, but the fans were ready for an intense game, and it definitely was that, intense!  With some great goal-tending from both teams, it was a back and forth game.  Unfortunately with intense games come penalties and Caledonia was no exception, leading to 2 power play goals for Huntsville.  Thank goodness our boys were prepared to stand strong and battle, and emerged with a hard-fought 3-2 victory!

Thanks to all for a great weekend and congratulations to the boys on back-to-back tournament wins!
