PeeWee A/E, 2013-2014 (Caledonia Minor Hockey)

What an exciting end to a great season for the PeeWee AE team!    On March 23, the team faced off against the Paris Wolf Pack in the Semi Finals.  Caledonia took a quick 3-0 lead, however Paris battled back.  At the end of the third period the game was tied 4-4.  So it would take overtime to finalize this one.  The teams traded chances in the first overtime but at the end it was still tied.  Caledonia had a 5-on-3 but couldn’t capitalize.  With 1 minute remaining in the second overtime, finally the tie was broken, Caledonia put the puck in the net!!!  A 5-4 win for Caledonia set them up ...

This past weekend the PeeWee AE team travelled to Bradford to compete in the Blue and Gold Classic Tournament.  With wins against the Hamilton Cyclones (2-1), the Uxbridge Stars (3-1) and the loss of a close game to the Whitby Wildcats (3-2), the team finished 2nd in their pool and would take on the Brampton Marlies for Game #4.  After a very snowy drive to the Nottawasaga Inn, the team beat the Marlies 2-0 and would earn a spot in the Championship game against the only undefeated team in the tournament, the Whitby Wildcats!

Congratulations to our PeeWee AE team, Challenge Cup Finalists!  After hard fought battles against Hespeler, Tillsonburg and Mooretown in the Round Robin, the team advanced to the Semi Finals against the Collingwood Blackhawks.  The team emerged from the Semi Final victorious with a 5-3 win and were set to meet the Mt. Brydges Cougars in the Finals.   With their 4-0 record on the line, unfortunately the boys fell 2-0 in the Finals against a tough Mt. Brydges team.   

The PeeWee AE Team would like to thank all those who came out and supported us at our team fundraiser on August 23, 24 & 25, 2013.  It was an huge success and we couldn't have done it without your support! We can now look ahead and focus on the upcoming season!  Let the hockey begin!  GO THUNDER!!!
