2020/21 Thunder Season Update
After a recent meeting with the other 3 associations that we will be participating with this season we have had to make some adjustments to the season format. Here is the breakdown of what to expect this season.

Season begins October 1st.  Games will begin October 19 and run until December 18th.   Unfortunately, due to lower registration numbers, ice time allocations, and some facility guidelines we will only be able to have 2 tiers. We will not be able to support 3 tiers as we had been planning.   Teams will be picked based on last years rosters. There will be no try outs   U8 and U9 (Minor/Major Novice) will be combined and play half ice.   All other divisions will play 3 on 3 full ice.   Teams in bubbles together will share ice for practices   Game play will follow Appendix F from the OMHA return to play guidelines   50 min games – 5 min warm up, 2 x 22-minute periods, no overtime or shootouts, no faceoffs, there will be referees.   Only 1 coach and 1 trainer will be on the bench during games.

Currently we are hoping to have 1 home game, 1 away game and a practice per week. This will depend on ice allotments   Christmas Break will run from December 19 to January 2nd . Season will be re evaluated and adjustments made as needed.   Teams and bubble formation will be completed with the other associations on September 26th . Everyone will be notified of their team prior to October 1st.
Online Registration will close Monday September 21st.
After that you will need to contact our registrar directly to sign up.

Please be aware of the following Haldimand County Facility Rules:
The entrance to the facility at the front of the building off Haddington street is now an entrance only. You will not be allowed to exit the building at the front. The exit to the building is through the Almas Pad out into the back-parking lot. You will be asked to answer a health questionnaire upon entering the facility and will also be required to leave a name and number for contact tracing purposes. Please do not bypass this requirement we are required by both the County and the OMHA to complete this process. Due to the restrictions on the number of people allowed in the facility (50), there will be a limit of one parent to one child allowed in the facility. We cannot allow other children into the building at this time. There will be no use of dressing rooms at this time and therefore, the players should come as dressed as possible. There will be chairs/benches set up at the ice surface to assist with putting on skates and other equipment. You must wear a mask at all times in the facility. Players will be allowed to take off the masks when they put their helmets on. You will be required to physical distance and maintain a 2m spacing at all times in the facility. We will continue to update everyone as information becomes available. Please also refer to the Return to Hockey Plan posted on the website under the About Us/Policy and Procedures.   Any question or concerns you can contact me at [email protected]
