Congratulations to the Caledonia
Eagles for taking 2nd place in the Earl Gaukel Memorial Tournament
in St. George this past weekend (December 4 -6), being the only undefeated team
to get to the Finals versus Hagersville Hawks.
Although disappointing to lose in the Finals, the Eagles can take pride in finishing the Tournament with the highest Goals For Percentage of the all the Atom Teams, with 0.742 GF%. This shows how great this team can play at both offense and defence. As well credit has to be given to the brave goaltending that was displayed throughout the tournament.
Games were hard played and each Eagle gave it their best and really worked together as a “cohesive unit” to quote one parent. Coaches Dan, Ed and Mark expressed to the team after the final game how proud they were of the effort and sense of fair play the team showed, and how the team can further build on these qualities in the year ahead. The Eagles should be proud of themselves for their success becoming Finalists in the tournament and look forward to more successes in the coming year.
