Chmiel Gets Shutout in Win
The Caledonia Menace continued to show improvement in their team play with a 2-0 win over Caledonia 3. The Menace struck quickly when Michael Paine got the puck at the blue line and walked into the top of the slot and let a shot go that beat the opposing goaltender to make it 1-0.
Ty Macdonald got an assist of the play. The Menace continued to hustle hard and control the play with great fore-checking and passing but Caledonia 3 was up to the challenge and their goalie played great keeping it 1-0 going into the third period. Early in the third, Shane William fed the puck up the boards to Aaron Oppertshauser who then went end to end with a few nice dekes and buried the puck into the top of the net to make it 2-0. Caledonia 3 began to press more and more but the defence did a great job of stepping up to take away shots and Chris Chmiel was sharp when he had to be keeping Caledonia 3 off the board and giving the Menace the win. Next game is Sunday against Glanbrook.
