Thunder Drop 2 Close Efforts
While Caledonia U11 Team #1 dropped their last 2 games, they continued to grow in their overall gameplay.
On Wednesday, Dec. 14, Caledonia Team 1 took on Caledonia Team 3. Two minutes into the game, Caledonia Team 1 opened the scoring, with James G blistering a hard shot from the blueline past the opposing goalie, with an assist from Zach A.
After that point, both teams played solid defence, but Team 3 was able to score twice, once in the 2nd and once in the 3rd, to get past Team 1 with a score of 2-1. Layton H was awarded player of the game for his hard-working two-way play.
On Saturday, Caledonia hosted the 1st place team in the entire league from Dunnville, but was unfortunately missing 4 of its players. While Caledonia had one of its most offensive games in recent weeks, scoring 3 goals (Chase W, Layton H, and James G), they unfortunately had a hard time containing the Dunnville attack, losing 6-3. Jaxon C was awarded player of the game for his multiple saves keeping the team in the game.
Caledonia Team 1 plays in a re-match with Team 3 this Wednesday.
