Jackets hold on for the win!
The Yellow Jackets were down to 9 players for their game against Hagersville on Sunday afternoon but they used great passing and smart play to pull out a 2-1 win.
Isaak Fisher opened the scoring burying a rebound into the open net off a diving shot by Aaron Oppertshauser. Then Noah Ferreira fed a pass back to Peyton Comeau who wired a shot from the point which was then tipped beautifully by Brenhyn Gavey who was perfectly positioned in front of the net to give the Jackets a 2-0 lead. Hagersville then scored a well-deserved goal to narrow the lead to 2-1. The Jackets continued to make great passing plays but could not find the back of the net keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats. Hagersville then made a late push but Chris Chmiel, who had made key saves throughout the game, shut the door frustrating the opponents and leading his team to the 2-1 win. Isaak Fisher received the player of the game for his hard work and great positional play. Next game is Wednesday against Cayuga.
