Spence earns Shutout in Team Burgundee's 2-0 Victory
Team Burgundee had one of their best games of the year beating Glanbrook 6 in their last game before Christmas.

The month of December had not been kind so far for the team, entering the game with 1 tie and 2 losses in the month. They lost 2-1 to Hagersville, tied Caledonia #4 2-2 after allowing a pair of goals in the third period, and then lost 4-2 to Cayuga. The team entered the game desperately needing a win to keep their hopes alive of qualifying for the A division playoffs. Glanbrook's record coming into the game was 13-1 so Team Burgundee knew that they had to be at their best to have any chance of winning. Team Burgundee came out flying, controlling the puck and working hard and mid way through the first period they took a 1-0 lead on a beautiful saucer pass from Aaron Oppertshauser to Jordan Guetter who deposited it into the net. In the second period, it was Zach Spence's turn to shine making some key saves as the Glanbrook team began to press harder and harder looking for the tying goal. The whole team began to focus more on defense blocking shots and clearing rebounds fighting hard to keep the lead. In the third period both teams played some great hockey and created some excellent scoring opportunities but both goalies made some great saves. With time ticking down, Evan Regnerus sealed the deal with a blistering shot that beat the Glanbrook goalie after making a great rush down the right side from end to end. The final score was 2-0 keeping those playoff hopes alive.
