Team Burgundee Starts Second Round
After a very fun tournament in London where the team had 2 ties and a 1 goal loss to some very good competition, Team Burgundee returned to the ice to begin the A playoff round robin.
In their first game, they had a come from behind 3-2 win against Caledonia 4. Jordan Guetter had 2 goals, including the game winner with less than 3 minutes to play in the third period. Josh Audit had the other goal. Assists were collected by Connor Dufour, Aaron Oppertshauser, Evan Regnerus, and Neale Stephens. In their second game, the Team Burgundee squeaked out a 2-2 tie against a very physical Cayuga team. Tommy Woodhouse scored a beautiful goal midway in the first period on a great pass from Evan Regnerus. Charlie Cooper also had an assist on the goal. That gave Team Burgundee a 1-0 lead going into the second period. Cayuga then took the game over with their physical play and hustle and scored 2 goals in the second period before Jordan Guetter scored with a great individual effort to tie the game up going into the third. Cayuga continued to press in the third period but Zach Spence made many key saves to help Team Burgundee hang on for the tie. Next game is Thursday in Hagersville.
