An Exciting Finish
On Thursday, Team Burgundee played Hagersville and it was an exciting game from start to finish. Burgundee played one of their best periods of the year in the first and dominated Hagersville with some great passing, cycling, and puck control, firing shot after shot at the opposing goal.

All three lines were hustling and moving the puck well and the defense were doing a great job keeping the puck in the zone. Midway through the first, the hard work paid off when Jean Cloete was able to bang home a rebound to get the first goal of the game. Jordan Guetter and Aaron Oppertshauser both collected assists on the goal. At the end of the first, it was 1-0 for Team Burgundee. In the second period, the momentum shifted as Hagersville began to become a little more aggressive and quickly scored their first goal of the game to make it a 1-1 tie. The rest of the period was dominated by Hagersville but Zach Spence made some great saves to keep the game tied going into the third. For most of the third period, Hagersville continued to dominate and with just over two minutes left in the game they got their second goal on a power play. But Team Burgundee did not give up. They began to press and take over the game once again. With less than a minute left, they pulled the goalie. Reuben Hill hustled down the ice to keep the puck in the offensive zone and then a few seconds later a scramble in front of the net resulted in Jordan Guetter getting a shot on goal. The rebound came out and Aaron Oppertshauser became the hero when he buried the puck into the top corner of the net to tie the game with only 4.4 seconds to go. What a finish!
