Riptide Roll Proves Too Powerful for Visiting Warriors
The Riptide handled the Stoney Creek Warriors on Sunday evening with poise, teamwork and overpowering defense.

Scoring for the Tide started very early in the 1st period, with Ethan Ferreira finding the back of the net within the first minute of play (assisted by Owen Clarke and Grayson Kinden). Less than a minute and a half later, the Riptide increased their lead with Alex Chmiel netting his first of the season (assisted by Dustin Hine and Brenhyn Gavey). Four minutes later, Jakob Kubisch got his first point of the contest, scoring from a great feed from Drew Pardy. Kubisch then took the puck in the ensuing face-off and scored goal #2, 7 seconds after his first (unassisted)! The Tide entered the 2nd period with a commanding 4-0 lead.

Just two and a half minutes into  period #2, Clarke netted his first of the game (assisted by Ferreira and Shane Williams), and followed that up with his second goal four minutes later, assisted by Luke Pain and Isaak Fisher. The second period ended with the Riptide leading by a score of 6-0.

Less than a minute into period #3, Tyler Dinya scored on a great shot from the point, assisted by Pain and Fisher. Then, two and a half minutes into period #3 Chmiel found the net a second time, with a fantastic rebound (from his knees) off a Dinya shot on net. Sadly, Chris Chmiel's shutout was foiled by a late Warriors goal, but the Tide re-gained their seven goal lead when Dinya scored from the point (assisted by Drew Pardy and Zack Hall). Pardy finished off the scoring for the Riptide with a late 3rd period goal, assisted by Kubisch. When the final buzzer went, the score was recorded as a 10-1 win for your hometown Riptide.

The Riptide faithful were entertained by a passing, scoring and quick-skating team....every player on the Riptide roster scored at least one point in the contest. It is obvious to the fans that, for this game, the players were working as a unit and recognizing that teamwork and passing are the keys to success.

The Riptide are next in action on Thursday night in Hagersville, and on Sunday back at home against hometown rivals B3-Swarm.

Go Tide!
