Riptide Roll Continues with a Decisive Victory in The Creek
The Riptide were in Stoney Creek on Sunday evening, and left the Warriors in the wake of the Riptide 11-1 tsunami.

Scoring started a mere 17 seconds into the game, when Jakob Kubisch found the back of the net (assisted by playmaker Brenhyn Gavey and defenseman Tyler Dinya).  The Warriors tied it up shortly thereafter, but hard-working Isaak Fisher pushed the Riptide ahead again, 14 seconds later, and the Riptide never looked back. Kubisch scored his second of the period at the halfway mark (assisted by Gavey and power forward Alex Chmiel), and the Riptide scoring for the first period was completed by sniper Drew Pardy (assisted yet again by Gavey, and Kubisch added an assist to his first period tally). Score at the end of the first period was 4-1.

The Riptide were held scoreless until very late in the second period when, with 17 seconds left, defenseman Luke Pain finally pulled the slapshot out of back of the closet and sniped one from the blueline (reports show that it may have been tipped by a Warriors defenseman, but sadly the replay camera at Valley Park was out for repair). This unleashed a scoring frenzy, and the third period was an absolute scoring clinic.

Twenty three seconds into the third period Pardy netted his second of the night (assisted by, yup, you guessed it, Brenhyn Gavey). Less than a minute later, Alex Chmiel found the back of the net (assisted by Ethan Ferreira), and then less than a minute after that "Sweet Hands" Owen Clarke scored, assisted by Chmiel. There was a two minute lull in the scoring, and then Ethan Ferreira netted one of his own (assisted by Chmiel, completing his 4 point night). Another two minute lull followed, and then Kubisch completed his hat trick  with just over two minutes left in the game (assisted by Dinya). Then, twenty seconds later Kubisch added his fifth point of the night by scoring the Riptide's final goal (assisted by Pardy and yes, Brenhyn Gavey - his fifth assist of the game). At the buzzer, the Riptide emerged with an 11-1 victory.

What a night! The lineup changes are proving to be mightly successful, as the defense has been strengthened with the addition of enforcer Dustin Hine. Big thanks to "I can play any position" Zack Hall, who filled in for the defense and showed once again that he really can play it all. The Riptide faithful are looking forward to the contributions of Gray Kinden on forward....and just a reminder, pants are not optional.

Riptide have their final game of 2016 on Friday night against the pesky Glanbrook 7. How many Riptide does it take to overcome 5 red helmets??? The Riptide faithful are about to find out.

Go Tide!
