Jackets start 2015 with a win!
The Caledonia Yellow Jackets began 2015 with a 4-1 win over Caledonia 1 on Friday night. The team played great defensively denying shots and back-checking hard and they also showed how much their passing has improved by making good passes at both ends of the ice.
The line of Isaak Fisher, Silas Johnson, and Aaron Oppertshauser was especially effective with each player registering a goal and an assist as they created multiple scoring opportunities throughout the game with great hustle and passing. Justin Anderson also scored a goal on a great feed from Brenhyn Gavey. The defense did a much better job of keeping the puck in the attacking zone and were able to take a few good shots towards the net. Tyler Dinya was especially good playing his best game of the year on defense and Peyton Comeau used his slap shot to keep the pressure on the opposing goal. Chris Chmiel received player of the game making some key saves in the second period which allowed the Jackets to keep the lead throughout the game. Next game is Saturday night in Hagersville.
