Jackets drop a pair of weekend games
The Caledonia Yellow Jackets lost both games on the weekend due to late game collapses. Saturday they fell 6-3 to Caledonia 1. Caledonia 1 scored two in the first period

but then the Jackets answered back when Aaron Oppertshauser took a beautiful breakaway pass from Ethan Ferreira and beat the opposing goalie on the blocker side. Noah Ferreira then scored at the 6:22 mark of the second period with a low hard shot to the corner to tie the game with Peyton Comeau assisting on the goal. The Jackets then took the lead when Brenhyn Gavey showed some tremendous puck control and eventually fed a pass to Justin Anderson who beat the Caledonia 1 goalie high on the blocker side. However, the lead was short-lived and Caledonia 1 tied the game again before the period was over. Unfortunately a late third period collapse led to three unanswered goals by the Caledonia 1 team which left them with the win. Then on Sunday afternoon, the Jackets battled hard against Glanbrook and the game was again tied going into the third period. Brenhyn Gavey scored in the first period with assists coming from Justin Anderson and Ethan Ferreira. Silas Johnson tied the game up at 2 in the second period with an awesome display of speed on the penalty kill in which he out hustled two Glanbrook defenders to gain possession of the puck, go around the net, and fire a shot hard and low to the glove side. Brenhyn Gavey assisted on the play. However two goals by Glanbrook in one shift late in the game led to a 4-2 loss for the Jackets. The next games for the Yellow Jackets are at a tournament in Wasaga Beach next weekend.
