Lawrence Impressive in Thunder Win
Macgregor Lawrence scored 2 goals and added an assist to lead the Caledonia Thunder to a 3-1 win over the very tough Embro Edge who had only lost one game coming into the night.

Lawrence got the Thunder on the board early in the first period when he lifted a beautiful backhand into the top corner beating the Edge goalie. Lawrence went to work again in the second period when he scored off a rebound on a Zach Ebert shot to make the score 2-0. It was then Ebert's turn to score on a nifty little move off to the side of the net to get himself in a position to beat the Ember goalie. Lawrence and Tristan Walkinshaw both received assists on the goal. Walkinshaw continues to impress with his good positioning and hard work game in and game out. Chris Chmiel was also great the entire night stopping 17 of 18 shots and only allowing 1 goal in the third period on a giveaway in the defensive zone on which he made the first two saves but an Ember forward finally beat him on the third shot. With the coach yelling "don't let him shoot" the entire night loud enough that anyone within 1 km of him could hear, the Thunder players continually hustled, back checked, and took away and deflected shots the entire game earning a great win. The entire defense, led by Kyle Arnold and Carter Gillam, were outstanding, skating hard, being tough on the puck, and moving it quickly to open men. The next game is next Thursday in a rematch against Embro.
