Thunder Sweep Season Series against Simcoe
The Caledonia Thunder traveled to Simcoe on Tuesday to play their final regular season league game against the Warriors.
Macgregor Lawrence showed some great hustle getting to the front of the net and got the Thunder on the board late in the first period. There were no assists given on the play. In the second period, Zach Ebert scored a goal with Remy Hetram picking up the assist. Simcoe quickly answered back with a goal of their own, but Ebert scored again with 15 seconds left in the period to give the Thunder a 3-1 lead going into the third. Tristan Walkinshaw then scored his first of the game from the slot on a great pass from Macgregor Lawrence. Shortly after, Todd Dekoninck fired a beautiful shot into the top right corner on a partial breakaway to give the Thunder a 5-1 lead. Simcoe scored their second of the game a minute later but later in the period Walkinshaw got his second of the game on a beautiful pass by Brenhyn Gavey capitalizing on a 2 on 1 opportunity. Simcoe scored one more in the last minute of play making the final score 6-3 for Caledonia. The win gave the Thunder the season sweep, 3-0.
