Thunder Edge Paris 2-1
The Caledonia Thunder played at home on Thursday Dec. 3 against the Paris Wolfpack.
The Thunder dominated most of the play during the night and fired well over 30 shots at the net but it was not until late in the second period that Corey Shelton finally got one past the goalie on a partial breakaway with Eric Thompson collecting an assist on the goal. Lucas Dos Santos made some nice saves in the first two periods to keep the score 1-0. Early in the third period Kyle Arnold fired a high wrist shot from the point that hit the top corner on the blocker side to give the Thunder a 2-0 lead. Tristan Walkinshaw got an assist on the goal. The Wolfpack got one back a couple of minutes later but the Thunder continued to cycle the puck well in the offensive end and controlled the puck throughout most of the remaining period. Despite not being able to find the back of the net again, they hung on for the 2-1 victory. Player of the game were Corey Shelton but a special mention to Kyle Arnold who continues to improve and has become an constant offensive threat from the blue line.
